Blackie Spit

Blackie Spit

Park around a sandy spit with abundant birdlife, a 5-km. nature trail & an off-leash dog area. The Crescent Beach neighbourhood of South Surrey is home to a beautiful City park called Blackie Spit Park. Mud Bay, the mouth of the Nicomekl River, is the inspiration for the park’s name. With stunning views of Mud Bay and the North Shore Mountains, Blackie Spit is a must-see. The Surrey Sailing Club, Crescent Beach Swim Club, and Dunsmuir Community Gardens are located on Blackie Spit.

What Visitors Are Saying

“Blackie Spit is a wonderful beach spot. Bird sanctuary nearby with some well maintained paths to walk on, beautiful views of the water, an off-leash area where you can let the dogs run and play. Love to watch the sunset from here. Lots of little secluded waterfront spots where you can get away from the crowds of nearby Crescent Beach.”

“Love swimming here! I’ve jumped off this pier sometimes, just waded out and swam in the ocean other times, and enjoyed the view laying on the beach. Beautiful spot! There are nice public washrooms here, often ice cream trucks, and close to lots of nice restaurants.”
